"Rupert Murdoch's media empire has set what may be a new standard of shamelessness by marking the anniversary of the World Trade Center attacks with the publication of a map of human remains that appears to have been developed for the New York Fire Department in 2002 but was never previously released."

""Here's the chilling proof that Ground Zero stretches well beyond the boundaries of the World Trade Center site," Murdoch's New York Post boasted. "The map was obtained by The Post from sources after the Fire Department did not respond to requests to review it. It shows that remains were found just 348 feet to the south of the mosque site at 45 Park Place.""

"An even more ominous version of the same map, with lurid red dots glowing like puddles of freshly-spilled blood against a dark background, was deployed by the hosts of Fox News' Fox & Friends on Friday morning."

I am beyond amazed. Fighting imagined insensitivity with actual insensitivity. They should change their motto from "fair and balanced" to "fairly repugnant and unbalanced" or some such.

Clearly Fox News should have conducted a poll about how moderate Muslims felt about this before they aired it.

Are you offended by pictures of the Holocaust too? Those must be really offensive to the Germans that didn't actually shove bodies into ovens. Poor things.

Fox is spot on here. If we give a timeline we are emboldening the enemy. Now if we move some bleeping mosque we are emboldening the enemy. I said before and I will say it again this mosque ain't nothing but a damn trophy. If moving a mosque puts our troops in danger by these muslim folks then we should have fought them here on our own soil. Because apparently fighting them in Iraq and Afghanistan has allowed them to run the show here now.

"404 Insensitivity not found"

Happy 9-11 anniversary kiddies. We'd like to keep your personal tragedy fresh for exploitation purposes. Can you pick out the spot where mommy or daddy's body parts ended up with this handy map?

Take a deep breath.

Now consider. You are getting outraged over how a "News Organization" is reporting the news.

Take another deep breath and think about that. You are not upset over the news. Nor are you upset about any detail regarding that news, nor about some connected topic. You are upset at the news organization themselves.

Is this really the biggest worry you have?

If they were publishing a map with the location AND names of whose body parts were found and where they found them you would have a point.... but the way things stand you really are grasping at straws on this one.

What do "Moderate Muslims" have to do with the OP?

Get it through your thick skull, they are NOT a news organization, they are an Entertainment organization only as classified by the Supreme Court decision in April of 2010.

They also have Terrerist backed ties with the number two in command after Murdock.

Those that support Fox support Terrorism.

It's not really "news", it's an attempt to bolster a political argument supported by the paper's publisher. Showing a map of the location of remains isn't the problem, it's specifically tying it to the community center some people are opposed to. Do they name any OTHER current buildings in the area? Of course not, because this selective presentation of the facts "helps" a political argument.

Faux Noise spreeding Faux Outrage. It's what they do.

Then what do we call all the outrage spread by internet bloggers over Fox News?

Hell, you cannot even take the time to spell their name, you want to spread your own slice of "Faux Outrage" here through this forum :p

And the outrage over this "event" is manufactured in pretty much the same fashion, to win their side of the political argument over the side they believe Fox news is pushing.

If we could just figure out a way to ignore all political activists, political strategists, we'd all be much better off.

You guys are missing the point. The day that news organizations like Fox, CNN, and others can BECOME the news story rather than reporting it is the day they all celebrate.

If you want to talk about the news, let's do so. Let's not talk about corporations that are all their to draw attention, even at the expense of accurate reporting.
