Fox 5 and UPN 9 - What's up with them here in NYC?

I've noticed that ever since 9-11, Fox 5 and UPN 9 here in NYC share programming and cut off after 12PM. Does anyone know why? This question is mainly targeted to other antenna users here in NYC because I have a feeling that cable subscribers do not suffer this problem. But I could be wrong... Anyone have any info? Thanks.

Didn't they have antennas on the north tower?

Yep...I believe CBS/FOX are the only ones broadcasting off the Empire St. building. I've just lightly scanned the thread at AVS Forum. There was supposed to be a new tower built in Northern NJ but the council of the town is giving the stations a very hard way to go.

I now get WCBS thru DISH but have not heard them mention anything in the couple of weeks I've had it.

From what I gathered from the AVSForums, 5 & 9 are sharing a broadcast channel from the ESB. That explain the program sharing but not the cutoff. Does the ESB have a kurfew?
