Four Squad Deathmatch Announced for Battlefield: Bad Company 2

Traditionally, online multiplayer for first-person shooters revolves either around free for alls where everyone fights against everyone or two evenly split teams. DICE, he developers for Battlefield: Bad Company 2, have introduced a new twist by announcing a new game mode called Squad Death Match that has up to four squads made up of four people duking it out on maps. In a word, this 4 vs 4 vs 4 vs 4.

Squads will start on opposite ends of the map and having a good balance of classes for your squad will be key to the success of your squad in each match. The winner of the match is determined by which squad reaches 50 kills first. A game changer will also be available for all four squads to battle over - a single potently armed vehicle placed in the middle of the map.

That is SO smart. Halo does something like that (multiteam) that's 2vs2vs2vs2 but more people is always good and it seems like it'd be alot more fun/chaotic. You start shooting someone, then another team starts shooting you so you've got to focus on two groups etc.

Yeah I remember having fun with Multi-Team in Halo 3. There were actually several multi-team game types. My favorite was 3-Ball (Oddball with 3 balls and 4 teams of 3).

Are people expecting this game to be good? I remember playing BF1942 and BF2 but it was not at the same level as COD4. The feel was totally off, for me.

I will definitely be getting this day one. The idea of a kill cam really bothers me though. I loved to snipe in the first one, and I always used one of the silenced rifles so I wouldn't ever show up as a dot for enemies to know where I was. Kill cams would ruin that.

They are one of the main reasons why I don't play core in COD games. I don't want people being shown where I was when I shot them. I hope it isn't in every game mode, at least. I'll wait and see, I guess.

The kill cam isn't exactly like COD. It's usually done in 3rd person, looking at your killer's front side. Though it might not sound like it, it actually makes it harder to figure out where they killed you from than COD.

Also, usually they're dead before you can seek revenge.

Honestly, this game looks like it will smoke COD4.
COD 4's weakest point was that the maps are so small. I mean come on, BF2 was hugely successful and had massive maps... why does COD4 have to have small camp fest maps with no emphasis on tactics of any sort.
