four monitors and one pc?

What would someone need to have four monitors acting as one display on their computer? I currently have 2 dell 19" LCD's on two pc's in two locations (making 4 total). I will have no need to have two pc's running at once and would like to make use of all four monitors. Currently i have a nvidea 7900 series video card which has two DVI outputs. Do I need to have SLI running?

You'd need either two cards running in SLI, or a second PCI video card, or a Matrox "Graphics eXpansion Module."

The Matrox TripleHead2Go looks interesting, and I think it will probably do what you need.

The external Matrox boxes are nice if your computer cannot have another graphics card.

The best setup would be twin PCIE graphics cards with two outputs each. You do exactly NOT enable SLI, because that would make the two graphics engines joion forces to render onto ONE screen. You want to run them separately.

if you want a software solution and don't mind the second computer having to be on, see if these do what you want.

http://synergy2.sourceforge.net/ (controls both pcs with the same set of keyboard mouse, like a software KVM, except you just move your mouse over to get to the other screen)
http://www.maxivista.com/ (lets you use a separate computer with monitor as a second monitor for your primary computer)

i've used the first, and it works great for what it does, but it doesnt seem to fit with your needs. i haven't tried the second one yet. good luck!
