We are seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer candidate that reports to the VP of Engineering to work as part of a team to lead the design and development of an analytics kernel for optimizing online inventory yield.

Responsibilities

* Reporting to the VP of Engineering, the candidate will work as part of a team to design and develop an in-house search engine marketing system capable of efficiently and effectively managing over 2 million keywords on a number of paid search engines
* Candidate will partner with counterpart in Product Management to manage the development of the SEM system
* Candidate will also aid in Business Intelligence to create a feedback loop from SEM system into finance, sales, and strategy

Skills/Qualifications

* MS/PhD. in Math/Computer Science
* 5+ years industry experience
* Strong focus on Algorithm design and Numerical Optimization methods
* Good understanding of Statistics and Probability
* Strong Data Mining and Statistical/Machine Learning skills
* Matlab/Java programming experience
* Proven ability to design and develop high-performance, reliable, industrial strength code
* Team player with the ability to work in small teams


Senior Software Engineer
This Software Development candidate will work as part of a team to design and develop a variety of web applications.

Responsibilities

* Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the candidate will work as part of a team to design, develop and implement highly scalable and reliable enterprise n-tier, distributed applications using Java J2EE technologies in Linux and Windows environments

Skills/Qualifications

* 3-5 years of experience developing in Java and J2EE (JSP, Servlets, EJB, Tag Libraries) on UNIX, Linux, and/or Windows.
* Experience using relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2).
* Experience using Web Servers (Apache, IIS) and J2EE Application Servers (WebLogic, Dynamo, JBoss, Resin).
* Experience with XML and Web Services.
* Experience with mission critical, high volume OLTP systems.
* Experience with full development life cycle.
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
* Experience with online advertising is a strong plus.


Information Retrieval Software Architect
We are seeking a Information Retrieval Software Architect candidate to work as part of a team to design and develop a variety of web applications.

Responsibilities

* Reporting to the VP of Engineering, the candidate will work as part of a team to implement and evaluate new algorithms for information extraction, information retrieval, machine learning, and natural language processing.
* Candidate will be responsible for designing and developing systems capable of discovering, extracting and manipulating web data for use on the Business.com site.
* Candidate will work close to the data, understanding its intricacies and interpretation.
* Partner with counterpart in Product Management to manage the development of all Information Retrieval and Search systems.
* Aid in Business Intelligence to create a feedback loop from Search systems into finance and strategy.

Skills/Qualifications

* Background in machine learning, information retrieval, and Web data mining.
* 3-5 years of software development experience (in Java, C, C++, or Perl).
* Experience using relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2).
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline. MS Degree highly preferred.
* Experience with online advertising and/or search engines is a strong plus.


Senior Manager, Taxonomy
The Senior Manager of Taxonomy will assume primary strategic and editorial responsibility for the categories in the Company's industry directory.

Responsibilities

* Manage our business-specific directory and thesaurus.
* Develop and execute a strategic plan to maintain and expand the Business.com taxonomy.
* Research and evaluate business-to-business markets to identify new categories.
* Expand and refine business keyword library.
* Partner with Sales and Marketing to expand the taxonomy in a manner that is consistent with overall corporate goals.
* Partner with Product Management to ensure a high quality user experience.

Skills/Qualifications

* At least 4 years experience creating, implementing and maintaining business taxonomies, thesauri and controlled vocabularies.
* Significant experience developing and maintaining keyword libraries and hierarchical classification systems.
* Prior experience in a strategic taxonomy planning role.
* Understanding of the Internet industry and how users perform searches.
* Knowledge of Search Engines and the Pay-Per-Click Advertising industry (Google, Overture).
* Ability to use taxonomy software and toolsets.
* Additional skills include project management, product development, and ability to act as a resource and liaison for multiple internal contacts.
* Excellent online research and analytical skills.
* Masters Degree in Library and Information Science strongly preferred.
