That book was about nothing. WTF? The series started out so well, and it devolved into a lot of gabbing about feelings. If I wanted to read a wordy pointless book I'd pick anything from the Wheel of Time.

I expected better from Asimov.

Asimov can create an amazing environment and weave an intricate (and epic plot), but I've found his books lacking on development. Probably comes from him writing his books so damn fast. Take the universe created within his Foundation series, and then see what two modern authors (Brin and Benford) were able to do with it.

I stopped with the Wheel of Time around book five or six within the series.

I always thought the Foundation universe has a lot of potential. I'm going to take a break from the books for now, but I'll definitely go back and check out the Second Foundation series at some point.

Someday I'm going to have to sit down and read the newer Foundation novels, as Brin and Benford are both outstanding authors. Not to mention that Greg Bear is also excellent.

That's a very good book IMO. Not Asimov's best, true, but still good. I wouldn't call it wordy and pointless.

Oh well I liked it. It was interesting how he connected the first book "Prelude to Foundation", along with the Robot series, with the last book Foundation and Earth, using the robot R Daneel Olivaw (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R._Daneel_Olivaw). He pulled the strings of the universe for 20,000 years.
