So, i have about 20 CD-Rs of MP3s sitting on my desk. What is a good way to get a playlist for that disk? I know Winamp has one, but it only has that one cd. I want a program that has all of my MP3s, and then the cd its on. Does this exist?

OK, i found one. This program is AMAZING!! It allows you to create a database by folder, cd, zzip disk, etc, and then search each one individually, or you can search the whole database at once.

Here it is

Its shareware, but nothing is lost if you dont register. I really am considering registering, since its so useful!

Copy them all to a hard drive. ;) You can get a 40Gigger and an ATA/100 card for under $150 this week, check Hot Deals. Mmm...hard drive space...

So I guess I don't understand what you're trying to do -- just make a list of what's on which CD?

yep, a list. Maybe some database software could do it.

Each cd has roughly 150 MP3s, and 20 cds is about 3000 unique mp3s... That is too much to scroll through, ya know?

put as many mp3s on a cd, then create a new playlist in winamp, add dir(cd its on) then just save the playlist on the cd or on you pc like as cd#1

Just make an HTML playlist in Winamp. Or go to mp3.com and look at the lister utils they have in the software section.

see, if i make a playlist, then i cant search each one. I want a program that will scan each playlist from one GUI, then report where the song is if it finds it.

So make the playlist, then merge them into one HTML file. Open it up in IE and press CTRL+F. :)

What it sounds like you really need is an XL database file.

Sure it will. Just make one file, say, of all the files on CD1. Then at the end of that HTML file make a horizontal rule and put CD2 ... etc.

Now only if there was a program that would tell me where my cds are placed in my room.

I can never find all my MP3s cd at once.. I can only find a few.. I think my room ate them..that's it.
