Found some money lying on the floor today while shopping.

Did my good deed for the day. Saw a $100 bill lying on the floor of the supermarket, near the fancy European food section. Took it to the lost-and-found/photo/lotto counter. The cashier put it in an envelope and wrote my name on it. If no one claims it by Saturday, it's mine. $100 buys nearly 3 weeks worth of food for me but the person who lost it might need it even more. Anyway, at least my conscience won't bother me over this and I might get good karma. Twas the first time I handled one of the new polymer $100 bills.

Fuck, that's where I dropped it. I can even describe it so they will know its mine.

My aunt just said this could have been some sort of candid camera trick and I could have ended on TV looking the fool, chasing a wired bill or being confronted if I pocketed it. :D

can't the cashier just pocket it after you leave? then if you come back, they can say it was claimed?

I recently found a $20 lying under a chair at a casino. Took it to security to turn it in and they were extremely confused as to what to do. Not sure what ever happened to it but they took it and made sure the cameras caught it.

What do you eat over the course of 3 weeks that only requires $100?

I won't be surprised if the cashier pockets that $100 too.

I came out of a supermarket and found a ladies wallet under my car. Stuffed with 20's to the tune of 7-800.00. I looked up her name on her license and called her. She was crying like mad when I told her I found her wallet. She was on her way to pay her rent after she had grocery shopped and was completely freaking out about losing her rent money. Got it back to her and all was good. Would not take any money she offered, just because it didnt seem right.

Maybe that money you found was really needed by someone. You did good. Karma or not, it is the right thing to do.

Peace

I was with a buddy when he found a $50 on the ground at a flea market, he just put it in his pocket. I asked if he was going to turn it in and he said "nope, it's karma, I wouldn't have found it if I wasn't meant to". I told him, "I don't think that's how it works". He shrugged, "that's how it works for me". Then we went to lunch, and I made him pay for both of us. :D

$100 to eat for 3 weeks is damn impressive wow. But it sounds like he's eating just for the sake of having to eat. I can safely say there's no way in hell I could make $100 last even a single week unless I change my eating habits 180.

America is getting Polymer notes?
We had that in 1992! (Australia)

Perhaps in the year 2040 America will upgrade to the Metric system?

MagickMan, I am with your friend. I am not aware of many underprivileged people that purchase fancy European (I assume organic, non GMO,etc) food so $100 was probably pocket change.
I was expecting a poll here I sure y'all know where my vote goes! But with my luck if I found it I would get popped for counterfeiting.
