IME, no. boys do, however begin to apply rational, logical thought in place of emotion about the same time as girls start trying to manipulate. im trying my best to call her on her emotional pleas so it may save the men in her life some frustration late on down the road. i love the look on her face when i say "that doesnt work on your father".
my wife and i just finished reading an email from our daughter about her wanting a barbie guitar. she offered to make me breakfast in bed and morning coffee for a month. bah!

Because it's a stage of growing up. Maturing doesn't happen over night. you go through stages of weirdness and evilness before you become "mature", but it'll still called maturing.
