Found out an interesting thing about sneezing this morning.

Well, it turns out that there seem to be 2 ways to avoid a sneeze that's building up. First tried and true is the old hold the nose thing.

The second appears to be extreme pain. Yup. I've had a pinched nerve in my neck or something for the last week, so in winding up for this big sneeze the movement in my neck caused some sharp pain, to which I recoiled, and after the third try to sneeze, the pain beat out the urge to sneeze.

I think I like the old hold the nose method better though.

ohhhhhh, you weren't trying - gotcha. 😛

Holding a sneeeze back is great way to blow pressured oral flora into eustachian tubes and ear.
Let her blow...

You can't sneeze with your eyes open. Next time you wanna avoid sneezing, keep your eyes OPEN. 😀

Seriously: I've observed that applying pressure between your nose and lips (the moustache area) decreases one's tendency to sneeze.

Not holding it back is a great way to blow snot and possibly food chunks all over your hands and/or companions.

my favorite is to build up my spit, and then sneeze with this massive mist all over the magazine that i'm reading.

good party trick, doesn't work well well with someone else's dirty magazine.

There was a month long period where I couldn't sneeze! I would feel it building up and prepare for the sneeze to happen, but it would always go away!!

Speaking of sneezing...

Does anyone else get the urge to sneeze every time they go outside into the sunlight?

And is it normal for sneezes to occasionally make your whole body ache for a few minutes afterwards?

That's called being sick.

What if it happens when you're not sick?

ive had that too, kinda like achey shoulders, joints muscles, almost like you were stretched out a bit and are sore from being strained a little.

and yes i sneeze in the sunlight too, i used to think i was allergic to the sun 🙂
