The misfire and engine failure is due to the Valve Cover gasket leak, oil has leaked onto the coils and shorted them out.

Hard ride and knocking is because the front engine mount is about ready to fail. This has put stress on the transmission which is causing some other issues.

Looks like I'll be replacing the Valve cover gasket, front engine mount, and coils pretty soon. Shop quoted me $1,100 after parts and labor. I wanted to tell them off, mainly because they quoted me $60 for a gasket I know only costs $19 at Advance Auto next door.

Anyone in central florida feel like helping me tear apart a '99 Camry engine? 😀
