He's had it since Vietnam and it still works perfect but it is a bit beat up. The mirror has light scratches, there is dust in the camera, one of the lenses has a nice scratch on it and another has mold!

I'm hoping some of the stuff can be fixed though, I've been playing around with photography but never had a good camera to learn on. And there is A LOT to learn, three lenses (not including stock) and more filters than you can shake a stick at!

I'll pick up some film tomorrow and snap some pics to see how the old boy works.

Film rocks, I love it much more than digital. Do you have any pictures of the camera that you can share with us?

Nice! I learned photography on my dad's 30-year-old Nikkormat FT. I'm using the lenses from it (50mm f/1.4 and 135mm f/3.5) on my Nikon D50 now.

Not on my computer and I'm to lazy to scan some old stuff that my dad took. Like I said, I'll take some pics just to see how it works and if they turn out I'll post them in a few days.

Very nice camera!
I got two of those off ebay recently for the amazing Super Multi Coated Takumar lenses it comes with. Still a very popular lens to this day as it's one of the greatest lenses ever made.

Very nice cameras.. they're the first cameras built in spotmeters. I bet it still works well despite it being beat up. These mechanical cameras are built like fine swiss watches. They take a lot of abuse.

It is the stock lense with the nice scratch on it. I'm sure I can thank two of my older sisters for that, Dad let them use it once and they dropped the damn thing.

"We only droped it once!"

They have broken two Digital cameras and my video camera. They are not allowed to hold cameras anymore.
