Where exactly did they bury it in the registry this time? Even if it's encrypted that's good enough, I just need to compare two installations.

Already tried asking in the Software forum, but no one seems to notice/care about anything in there. Here in ATOT there's always enough neffers around to get a response in a minute or two. :D

Edit - Thanks Beau6183. :D

Do a search on Google...you should find a tiny little .exe that will do this for you...

In the registry:

HKeyLocalMachine -> Software -> Microsoft -> Office -> (version: 2000 = 9.0, I think XP = 10.0) -> Registration -> ProductID

Edit: It's not the 25 character CD key, but it is the Product ID translation of the CD Key.

Gee, that's going to help determine which one is currently installed.

Thanks Beau6183 - I checked that out and was wondering if I could use that.

The rest of you who think/thought I was looking for a keygen or that I'm a no-good "w4r3z m0nK133" - go fdisk yourself. :p

This thread may now be closed. If I could delete it myself, I would.

Well, it's not the CD key, but it is the product ID that is generated from the CD key. They pass the CD key through an algorithm to get that product ID number (notice how it resembles the old CD-key format that M$ used to use). I don't know if there is a way to go backwards.
