Found an Android phone but it doesn't turn on.

Pushing the ON button achieves nothing. I don't know much about phones. Would it help to charge the battery? How can I tell what the charge connector is, like micro USB maybe?

I put found ads in paper and Craigs, checked lost ads, nothing.

Where do I go next? Thanks

Sorry, should have had the phone here, left it at work. Some off-brand a couple years old.

If it's a few years old, I'm sure the IEMI, serial #, and/or cell phone provider is printed somewhere on there. Call up the provider and tell them you found that phone.

Almost all androids are micro USB these days. Battery is probably dead. Just about any charger you have will probably work with it to charge it slowly at least.
