Found a way to make a few extra bucks at work

We do a lot of printing so our company goes through toner and ink cartridges like crazy. We use to have the vendor that we order from pick them up but they are no longer doing that. So for the last 3 months or so we've been storing the used ones until we can find a solution to getting rid of them. I was just looking for a place to come haul them all away but came across a company that will pay for them. They'll send you shipping labels and you just have to ship them back. After going through what we have I calculated it to be worth $160. I talked to my boss and he said it was ok and that I can keep the money.

You can buy an IPOD with that money.. 😛

Interesting that your boss let you do that, however it's understandable. At my "place of work" we often have warranty replaced parts, and instead of being "first come, first served", we're forced to break them down and toss them out. No one's allowed to grab the part, even if it's in great condition. However...things often go missing from the scrap bin... 😉

Odd... Most OEMs that I work with require you to return the warranty replaced part.

Parts that you would find at a car dealership are a little too large to ship back, ends up costing them too much. 😀

I had assumed you were talking about PCs... how rude of me! 😀
