Klipsch Center Speaker ~The Klipsch model number is- i believe...an SC1- it also says impedance 8 ohms & sold for over 200 itself
Sony Receiver EX/DTS~with remote -Model number of Sony Receiver is - STR -DE895
Sony receiver sold for over 400 by itself..

I'm not sure what model the speakers are- I asked, and she emailed back that they say "8 ohms each model 17 by henry claus" on them.

No HDMI on the receiver..I don't have an HDTV yet, but I will in the near future. I have Z560s on my computer now, but just the crappy TV speaker on my TV. For 260 bucks, do you think I should pick this up? I might try to talk her down a bit, as I'd end up spending $40-50 in gas to go get it..

I don't think you'd be able to do better for $260...

You can always pick up a new receiver later as even without the receiver the rest is pretty good for $260.

The Model 17's and the Sony receiver are rather old. Seems like a decent enough set-up, but I wouldn't pay more than $200 for the whole thing, and I think you could get it for that -- perhaps even less.
