Found a special 45 rpm amongst my collection.

Due to a misunderstanding on the phone, my then-wife gave away over 1000 of my 45rpms to a geology thin section specialist (along with my fishing rod) while I was away in California for a few months doing paleontology field work. However, one box went undetected and survived the 45rpm holocaust. Plus some, like that special one, were bought later and thus escaped.

I just found out the box while unpacking some stuff that has laid dormant since 1989 (yes, I am still unpacking from when I moved to Ottawa). Opened it and guess what the first 45 of the group was?

Awesome. Think I'll browse through those tomorrow and reacquaint myself with them. :D

They're not for sale at this moment.

I just went quickly through the 45s. Most were bought by me and are therefore in excellent to mint condition but I also have some that were given to me (e.g. some Beatles) and in pretty bad condition. Got mostly 70s and 80s stuff (e.g. Alice Cooper, Deep Purple, Yes, disco, Billy Idol, Madonna, Eurythmics, Prince...) but also some 60s stuff like Motown, Simon & Garfunkel, The Original Caste, Herman's Hermits, Donovan, Steam...

Think I'll post a list after the holidays. I need to list my LPs, CDs and cassettes too anyway for insurance purposes.

Couple more pics of a classic and its Gold Standard re-edition. What you see aren't scratches but paper dust from the sleeve and some easily cleaned finger oil.

So much of my good stuff is gone though. :(

Since I have a VHS camera from ~1990, videotape is the correct word.

I still say videotape and tape record even though I have a camera that records to flash memory cards and audio recorder that records to CF cards.

How many people say dial this number when they have a pushbutton phone? :p
