Rabbits are a pest, plain and simple. I live in a suburb of Chicago... it's not like I live in the forest or countryside and have deer and other wildlife in my backyard. Most of the time you see a rabbit around here it's dead because it's been nailed by a car. They seem to eat anything and everything green that they can reach. After I found out that the rabbits were eating my flowers, I put up a plastic fence around the flowers. The rabbits then chewed through the plastic fence to get to my flowers... They may look cute and cuddley, but they are very destructive animals. They have also chewed through the wood surrounding my deck in order to get under it.

I'm sure that if I said I found an insect burrow of termites in my backyard, and was going to destroy them, no one would care.

What about the destructive animals that destroyed the rabbits, among other things, natural habitats in the first place. I know it sucks that they destroyed your property. Wouldn't it be nice if we could just kill anything that damaged our property. It would probably help with the human overpopulation problem. I know my property has been damaged/stolen by humans more than any other animal.

Edit: BTW the people that are saying to kill them yourself to eat is a lot better idea than having some jackoff animal control pump poisions into them and throw them in a trash can somewhere.
