Found A New Computer Magazine Today...

I went to get the latest issue of Maximum PC, to tide me over until my subscription kicks in. They were out, but they had the premiere issue of a new mag called CPU: Computer Power User. Basically, it looks like they are trying to make computer geekiness look trendy. It seems too general to appeal to most of the people here, and the Crapintosh-related articles are a definite no-no. The only reason I bring it up here is that there is what will apparently be a monthly feature called, "Anand's Corner." Yes, THAT Anand. No one else got their very own corner, so they must want to keep him happy. ;) Anyway, I just thought I would throw out this tidbit of information for those interested.

It is not all Macintosh, just some of it. It will probably alienate more people by covering both PCs and Macs that it will draw in. They even have a picture of Anand.

I figured it wasnt all macintosh. I couldnt see Anand doing an article in a Mac mag. And anyone who hates Macs without a good reason (and I have not heard one yet) is just an idiot. I (of all people) buy Windows 2000 magazine on occassion. And if I can support the evil empire, people should not mind a magazine with one or two tidbits on macs.

Hopefully Ill remember about this in a couple days so I can go to the store :p

computerbits has a good mac section. The writer seems like a knowledgable person. It is a free magazine distributed in almost all college campuses here in Portland.

Thanks for the link, their computer security article looks promising. They mention carnivore (and with recent developments it makes it much scarier).

I am happy to say that I posted about this mag 2 weeks ago :) See Anands book in there yet? I sort the magazine because it means I can read the websites while on the bus... sometimes sitting in front of the computer gets to ya :)
