I've used this host before... but yeah, if you don't have a index.html yet or if someone mis types the addy, it does direct you to a porn ad
 
Cool especially since RippleHost.com raised their prices to $9.99 instead of $4.99/yr for 100MB/1GB web hosting.
 
sounded nice in the beginning, but WTF is that:

"We only provide hosting for English speaking web surfers in the United States. Although we often permit web surfers from elsewhere to access sites, from time to time requests other than those in U.S. English will generate 404 errors and possible page redirection."

exactly what these places provide...not that much.

This is the only free webhost I've seen that has FTP and cgi support and unlimited bandwidth. There is also only one tiny little ad that says "This webpage is hosted by web1000".

I have the following free and no it is not a friend, but dont ask for where i get it because they dont host anymore:

Unlimited Space + Bandwith
PHP
MySQL
CGI
FTP Access
NO Ads or Banners whatsoever!

etc...I think all they dont have is frontpage extensions 😀
