I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords.

Without knowing precisely what the danger is, would you say it's time for our viewers to crack each other's heads open and feast on the goo inside?

Mmm, yes I would, Kent.

Most detailed (i.e. street level detail) maps on google maps/earth are from aerial shots taken from a plane. MAny companies will rent planes and do 'mappping runs'.

The cameras are usually in the belly of the plane behind a window and it is quite possible for the bug to be between the glass window and the camera.

Pretty sure this is an R, I know I saw it a week ago in some Internet tube.

Here's another weird one with buildings

i've seen that one a lot. being from houston. is it the only downtown area where they stitched photos from very different angles?

Must have something to do with how the pictures are taken with a satellite and the interoplation of more then one photo with skyscrappers like these. That's just a guess though.

What's weird is that if you zoom out, you can still see it from quite far away... I think it would be even bigger if it was somewhere near the lense.
It looks like an earwig, which can be up to 3 inches long...

Hey, google maps is pretty cool! I found my car on the Anchorage map! But my house isn't there yet. It was built in 2004 and the map is dated 2006??? I wonder where I *really* live... hmm.
