Here is a copy of a resellers Product page:

ATHLON XP 2600+ SOCKET A (333Mhz BUS) .13 MICRON (THOROUGHBRED) WITH QUANTISPEED ARCHITECHTURE OPERATING AT 2.133GHZ OEM VERSION
(Purchase a fan to extend the warranty to 1 year) AMDXP2600333OEM ETA 10/31

I checked around, including AMD's web site and I can't find any reference to a 2600+ @ 333 FSB. It is placed right next to another 2600 @ 266. The 266 is $4 dollars cheaper. I wonder if this is a typo or a prototype release. Anyone got any insight?

Call them on monday and verify it!!! It could easily be a clerical mistake though as I hadn';t heard anything from AMD about that flavor coming at that speed...

Besides 2.133ghz does not work with any multiplier and 166fsb....

16*133.333 = 2.133ghz

13*166.666 = 2.167ghz

no combination will give that speed!!!

Hmm, standing back so I don't miss the forest for the trees here, at least we have a tentative ETA for 2600+'s now: 10/31. /me also notes that this outfit's price is lower for the 2400+ than Newegg's price.

Damm..... $118 more just for .13GHZ / You can buy an XP2000 at 1.67GHZ for the diff. between a 2.0GHz and 2.13GHz.

ATHLON XP 2400+ SOCKET A (266Mhz BUS) $194.00 + ATHLON XP 2000+ SOCKET A (266Mhz BUS) $106.00 = $300

ATHLON XP 2600+ SOCKET A (266Mhz BUS) $314.00

Man that's crazy. Oh well if you want premium you pay premium I guess.

I'm only interested in 333FSB. my CPU is 1600+ and it's my system bottleneck. I was waiting for the 2800+ @ 333. I would have a very well rounded and efficient system. All components working well and closely synced. I'll get better performance and my vid, mem and HDD testing shows that these sub systems constantly wait on the CPU with a slight OC. BALANCE Man!

Looking at your signature rig there, it looks like it ought to hit the 333MHz bus unless you have a balky 1600+. Have you tried bumping the VCore up a wee bit and going for the 333MHz bus?

It will hit this FSB, and load, but stability issues abound. Maybe just don't have the correct sequence in vcore, mem and AGP. I've not OCed much. just played with it mostly. Stability is what I have to have, and I'm only beginning to understand what's involved in OC. When I have the system where I want it, then I have another system that will be my OC box. Currently runs a Duron 550 and is my other client on this network. I work and play on this system and can't mess with it too much. The other is a spare. Won't lose any work time if I fry it playing around. It will host this 1600+ and a comparable MOBO. Maybe Gigabyte 400.
