"FOUND.000" Folders on my hard drive...what are these?

A truly ignorant question no doubt but I've wondered about this for some time. I'm running Win2KPro SP3 and these have appeared one at a time over the last year and now I have about thirteen of them..."FOUND.000"..."FOUND.001" What the hell is this and can I delete them?? It's starting to clutter things up.

they dont sound liek Win folders. maby you were hacked. id kill them

I think they are the saved folders from when a chkdisk runs from improper shutdown.

Exactly. you can look through them but I have never seen one recovered into anything remotely useable. I would delete and move on.

Okay that sounds about right...I've noticed a few more appear lately and I've been having trouble with the InstallShield for MOHAA:Spearhead...the installation for that game doesn't like my setup for some reason and keeps resetting my system...just about giving up on it now. Anyway I just nuked the folders.
