Once you get to the actual game (past the demo) it's a lot of fun! I played some races yesterday and got to the Daybreak series and had an absolute blast.

1080p 60fps makes Forza 5 & 6 so good. I love it.

Been playing FM6 a lot lately, the car collection is nuts and this is as close as being the best Forza since FM3 (my favorite one of them all). Something I notice, and I know lots of people don't consider Forza a true sim, but I play a lot of Project CARS and Assetto Corsa as well and since my wheel broke I've been using a controller but playing Project CARS with all assists off then going to Forza 6 with all assists off, Forza is significantly easier- for example driving the BAC Mono and pushing it to the limits where the car loves to spin out at any given time and recovering from a spinout isn't easy in Project CARS but too easy in Forza 6 (steering is set to simulation). Forza is just too forgiving, but it's still a fun game.

A while back we had a pretty solid weekly league for 4. Anyone interested in picking back up with 6? I could use some racing friends who brake prior to turning.

If by brake, you mean use the silly fools in front of me to slow me down, then that's me!

Not really. I haven't gotten Forza 6 yet, but I'm sure I will soon.

I'd agree to join, but Halo and Fallout are about to MURDER my free time. That, and I don't think I'd be all that enjoyable to race with, haha. I play with more assists off than I should, and it can be...problematic at times, especially against the hyper-aggressive Drivatars.

Playing through the Modern Hypercar races in career mode on Expert difficulty. With the car spec limited to R880, it is ridiculously frustrating to race against the Caparo T1 spec'd to ~P950. Has anyone else run into this issue? The Caparo T1 is basically a LMP2-class car and even if I wanted to, I cannot select it and race it at the beginning of the series. I can easily beat it on road courses with long straights, but if it's a small course with tight corners that Caparo burns me as well as the other drivatars if I let it get past.

I know what you mean. Granted, I play on the second-lowest Drivatar setting (Highly Skilled), not Expert. Still, the Caparo's an unfair advantage for the A.I. Luckily you only have to finish in the top-3 in those races. Still, I think I beat it in most of the races. The Hennessey Venom drivers were the ones almost always in the lead. I think I was driving the LaFerrari in that set of races. I don't care for it.

^ same for me, high difficulty with LaFerrari and I can beat the AI in corners but on straight they'll take off. And the LaFerrari is a chore to drive with all assists off, that thing feels like it has no grip on the ground at all.

Exactly. I VERY rarely take it under third gear so it doesn't freak out coming out of a turn.

I've always wondered how game companies intend to keep up with cars that are increasingly faster due to programming and not raw horsepower or raw grip. Right now they "cheat" and give it more mechanical grip than it would otherwise have, but cars like the LaFerrari, P1, and 918 all use their electric motors, brakes, hydraulic anti roll-bars, and e-Diffs to drastically improve performance beyond what they would otherwise be capable of.

Simulating all of that data is tough and the manufacturers would never share it anyways. We're getting closer to drive by wire cars that are like fighter jets, unstable and unusable when actually controlled directly by a human.

I remember playing old Need For Speed games, specifically NFS:HP2 (2002) and digging through the game data files. All of the vehicles had .txt files with the car's specifications. These could be modified, so for example you could take one of the fastest cars in the game - the McLaren F1 LM, copy its data file, and put it in the Lotus Elise file to essentially give the Elise the characteristics of the F1.

Anyone playing this with an elite controller and have a recommended setup?

I don't have one, but I don't think there's much from the base controls you'd need to change. I'd say probably throw the clutch on a paddle, so you're using the same finger for clutch and brake (unless you use the middle finger for brake and index for clutch already). Since you really don't need the right stick much, having the face button shifting is fine, IMO, but you could throw it on paddles, if you prefer.
