i have areo on mine but with minimum downforce. i think it depends on your driving style and how consistent you are, u will need to be a lot more consistent and confident without areo. what i can say for sure from what i've learn in the evo 6 is that if you have tire compound upgrade, then i will suggest you get areo, it will let u drive both inside and outside of the track and can stay competitive longer. otherwise u will lose a lot of time when your race compound loses grip.
yes i slided mine all the way to the left. i find the car very neutral and managable and i stayed with it. not sure how much better it will become if it's in the middle.
