I did not realize it was my pick. Famous told me last night it was so R3 is the car of choice since I didn't give you guys enough time to build/test anything. My fault. Haven't been keeping up with the thread as much as I should.

I'm a man of few words (and few thoughts...)

Dunno if I'll be there tonight, we'll see. Twould be good to game with Waldo again, if only to see the back end of his car for the first 10 seconds of a race.

I might hop on tonight and race a bit (unorganized-like). Anyone else thinking of doing so? I know my buddy who will be on conference call wants to race.

I'm out for tonight. Sorry, guys. Plus it's Famous' night and our connections are at odds again. Not fair for him to miss out on his own night, anyway.

I'll probably be in an public room with my buddy, the more of y'all that join the better. He and Famous have polar connections though and he's been wanting to race with me for a while. That is "if" he can race tonight (I assume he will). If not I might join in the R4 action.

I hope they clean up this connection crap for Forza 3 or I'll be horribly dissappointed. I've never heard of it happening in any other game.

Tevolo's pick got pushed back until he got internet.

At this point it would be:
8/19 - QuikWgn
8/26 - famous
9/2 - Hopeless
9/9 - Queasy
9/16 - Blowfish
9/23 - Kabob
9/30 - OneSkinneeJ

I don't know if I'll make it tonight or not.

For next week, "So easy a caveman can race it" spec car race, choose any of the following, they are all general purpose builds and should be comparable to each other on all tracks, even though they drive differently.

A850 2002 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II (R34)

Good all around car, if you don't have time to try the others, build this one.

Engine: Stock powertrain, Sport Exhaust, Sport Intercooler
Handling: Race everything, race weight reduction
Tires: Yoko Race compound, Max width, Max Rim Size, Any max weight reduction wheels (Volk CE28N, TE37, Work Equip 03, Enkei RP F1, etc)
Areo: Forza front bumper rear bumper and wing, any aftermarket sideskirt, top secret hood.

Tuning for the R34:
Tires: Front 28 Rear 29
Gears: Stock ratio, 3.92 final drive.
Alignment: camber f -0.8 r -1.1, zero toe in and out, 4.7 front caster
ARB: f 10 r 40
Spring: f 313 r 328, 6.5 in ride height front and rear
Damping: rebound f 14.8 r 17.6 bump f 2.4 r 3.5
Areo: max front and rear
Breaking: 48% front. break pressure up to you
Diff: for traction off, f 25%, 0% r 30%, 0% center 25%/75%
for traction on, you shouldn't need traction on this car, if you have to have it, maybe add 10~20% to front and rear.

A850 1998 Subaru 22B Sti

Good short track car, lacking top speed but it makes up for it with consistency and recoverability

Engine: Stock drive train, Race exhaust, Race ignition, sport fuel
Handling: Sport Brakes, Race spring, race ARB, Race transmission, Race clutch, stock flywheel, stock driveline, Race diff, Max reduction
Tire: Kumho race compound, max tire width, max rim size, stock rim style
Areo: Forza Front bumper, Forza rear wing, any non forza rear bumper, any street side skirt, street hood.

Tuning:
Tires: f 28 r 29
Gearing: default ratio 3.60 final drive
Alignment: camber -0.5 -0.7 toe 0 0 caster 5.8
ARB: 7.5 40
Spring: 273 264 ride height 4.1 4.2
Damping: rebound 14.7 17.5 bump 4.4 2.5
Areo: max
Diff: f 20% 0% r 25% 0% center 33%/67%
Again traction doesn't need to come on, if you do want it maybe u want to bump the front and rear a bit, that is up to you.

A850 1994 Twin Turbo Z

This one's got the highest top speed, OSJ friendly...

Engine: engine swap to last drive train, street block.
Handling: Sport brake, race spring, race arb, race tranny, race clutch, sport flywheel, race driveline, race diff, max reduction
Tire: Yoko Race compound, 245/265 width (second to last), 19 inch rim (second to last), Any max weight reduction rim.
Areo: Forza front, Forza wing, Street rear bumper, Street skirt, Street Hood

Tuning:
Tires: 28 29
Gearing: default, 3.8 final drive
Alignment: camber -0.6 -1, toe 0 0, caster 5.5
ARB: 11.7 40
Spring: 326 351 height: 4.2 4.2
Damping: rebound 12.2 17.4 bump 2.3 5.1
Areo: Max front and rear
Diff: f 18% 0% r 40% 40% center 30%/70%

I'm back from vacation and on my regular schedule again so I should be making the Wednesday night races again. Sorry to have been absent but RL has a habit of intruding on all my plans.

Well...what's the plan for this week? Without more attendence I'll probably stick to public games. Hopeless, my buddy, and I had a good time last week!

So, question, when do we make the new "Forza 3 Game night" thread? I assume we'll continue the tradition with the new game?

Considering the sheer amount of new people getting the game we're going to have to open a bunch of rooms.

Has Turn10 gave a release date for Forza 3?

Umm, about 4 months ago.

October...is it the 27th?

I'm going to be on tonight although it'll be later than usual. Wife and I have a meeting at church at 7:45 Central, I might make it back by 8:30 but I doubt it.
