Forwarding through gmail?

I have my gmail account set up to forward to my main email address and it has worked fine for a long time. In the last 3 days there have been 2 emails that have not forwarded????? Everything else has worked fine. I even sent a test message that went through fine.
The person that sent the emails uses AOL but that shouldn't matter.
Any way to tell why it didn't work?

maybe gmail marked them as spam. I wouldn't think spam would be forwarded by filters. Just a guess though

Yeah but these were still in my inbox when I opened up gmail. And I cehcked my spam folder in outlook to see if they did forward but went in there but they didn't.

Anyone actually have an aol account they could send me a test message?
