forums. migrates to subscriber., right? Why not the other way around, also?

Don't know if this has been brought up. AFAIK if you're a subscriber, any forums. addresses will change automatically to subscriber. addresses, but subscriber. will not change to forums. for non-subscribers.

Just a annoyance ploy to get people to subscribe? :p

Matt search down the threads a bit. Zuni left a very good explanation of that about a week ago. Its real easy to go with the subscriber links but he said something about a major software rewrite to go the otherway.

I added the following line to my hosts file. I have no problem using subscriber links now. :)

216.151.100.125 subscriber.anandtech.com

I did the same thing and it works for me.

Correct thats a client side mod, server side its a heck of alot more resource intensive, and not worth the resource gamble.

The solution works fine as a client, there are better ways for you to assist in tuning the forums.
