Forums having SEVERE problems

Hey, folks, has anyone else noticed that the forums here have been performing REALLY poorly in the last three weeks? I repeatedly get the
"The Anandtech forums are temporarily down due to EXTREMELY heavy traffic. Please try back later."
and the
"Forums are down for scheduled maintenance."
as well as the server error
"Error: the server could not complete your request due to ....... Please contact the site administrator and report this incident...."

The "scheduled maintenance" one is by FAR the funniest because I hit refresh a few times and it's suddenly back, obviously not down due to any maintenance.

So what's the deal? Anyone got a clue?

Well I've been getting that "Forums are experiencing very high traffic" once in a while, but that's it.

I believe Zuni and the boys (haha) are currently gone upgrading the servers.

I hit this site ALL day long while at my CSR job for Sprint. It's all I do in between calls, and I've been doing that for a LONG time.

It's just been in the last 3 weeks that it's happened so much. I'm curious, maybe it's the p3's they used for the forum servers =o

Heh.

ahhh many thanks.

Must have REALLY been hitting full capacity the last few weeks, then.

I REALLY wish 760MP was out, as that'd SURELY cure everything compared to any Wintel offerings.

Heh, no sorry's, it's ok. AMD isn't GOD and their chips aren't worth fighting over, although they DO make a damn good product for bottom-dollar prices.

I was under the impression that the AMD based servers were the web servers, and that the pentium or xeon servers were used for the forums... is that correct?

Also, thanks, mod, for seeing this and putting it in the right forum =) Sorry I missed your post about the site maintenance =o

Can you give us the lowdown on what's taking place? What sort of load are you seeing across your cluster? I'm a details kind of guy so help a brutha out ;o
