forums have become very slow for me

after new PM's, emoticons,new ads 🙁, forums have become very slow 4 me 🙁

Are you on a new ISP? Possibly the routes you take to the servers are more heavily used so that slows down the transfers.

The site also has started getting very slow in the early morning hours again, due to the bandwidth cap. Unless of course you're a subscriber.

The ads aren't new, they're the exact same ads that were on the bottom before.

i've noticed it getting slower lately also.. it will start to laod a page and then just hang for several seconds.. especially during peak hours.

however, not really enough to complain about-- since its still fast most of the time.. and when its slow-- it just gives me an excuse to go do other stuff. so i dont mind much.

I've noticed pages taking a long time to load (and just remembered this), especially when I open several child pages. The thread list page is often still loading, which prevents the child pages from loading. If I stop the main window, the child pages start loading immediately. Ads (specifically google ads) are usually not loaded when that happens, so at least in part they may be an issue.

The new ad table causes the entire page to download before the forum content shows, there are no server issues or slow downs so its either that thats causing the issue or a poor route somewhere.

Get ridof that fvcking ad table on the left of the screen then the speed will be back to normal 😀

I agree 1000%,get rid of that god awfull crappy ads on the left.

Before that crap it was fine but now it's slow as hell.:disgust:

doh, stupid norton firewall doesn't seem to like AT, so i shut the fvcker off.
now it's just a little slower than normal, i'm not complaining 🙂

Is it just because the ad table is located before the forum content, or is the ad table "special" in some way that prevents the rest of the page from displaying? (Obviously I'm not complaining about location, just wondering if the code for it is the cause. It is rather annoying that a slow ad server can prevent a site's content from displaying. That's about an equal reason I started blocking ads from most sites, along with the annoyance of flashing ads.)

Its because of the way browsers parse content, especially on the messages page.
