Forums EXTREMELY Slow Today

Something going on?

The forums are absolutely crawling for me today.

ONLY Anandtech, not any of the other sites I've visited.

(it took more than 1 minute for this window to open.)

Yep, painfully slow here as well. Everywhere else is smooth, but AT is is molasses.

Maybe it's the cookie that's killing page loading for me.
I use spywareblaster to hose spy cookies, and of the 20 or so cookies that try to load here, one is pooping the bed, causing me to get the following result .....

"Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site http://forums.anadtech.com/private.php.
Operation aborted"

That is on any page including private messages.

The cookie is this one..........

It doesn't try to load that cookie on every attempt to refresh or access a page, but it was taking me sometimes 10 attempts to get a page finished. That was at 4pm est abouts.
I went out so just got back, but am using Firefox instead of IE6.
Don't have blaster protecting FF, so cookies are no issue.

for the last couple of weeks the forums have been intermittently slow late at night

can we PLEASE fix these intermittent slow downs that are still happening late at night? sometimes its just a little slow but other times it takes 20-30 seconds or more to load pages. sometimes it will seem fine for a few minutes and then it starts right back up. it seems to start happening around 2 AM Central time.

Still very, very slow for me, often having to click two or three times to pull a page up.

it does this crap late every night and the forum in general have been getting worse for the last couple weeks too. the problem is intermittent though. sometimes everything seems fine for a few minutes but other times the site will hang from a few seconds to nearly a minute. and many times even when the pages load the icon keeps spinning while waiting dynamic , tracker or whatever else wants to hold it up. at this point it is getting RIDICULOUS.

the browser has nothing to do with this and the forums are fine 90% of the time during regular hours. starting around 2 AM Central time is when it intermittently acts like crap for several hours.

I have my suspicions of what it could be.
