Forum Suggestion - Pre-Enable PM's

I think it would be a nice feature if, when a user signs up, his PM box is enabled.

There is many times that a simple PM would be appreciated, but the user never turned his on from the get-go. Sometimes intentionally, typically not. Many new users who dont have it turned on, just dont know how. The only way to alert them is in a thread.

Not everyone wants them enabled, thanks for the suggestion.

Can't please them all.

Well, those can click the "disable" button. I mean no offence to anyone here, but most do not use a real e-mail address, or hide their e-mail, then never enable PM's, so there is no way to reach them to warn them that they just did something that is going to get them banned.

Exactally.

I think its a feature that is so vital, it should be turned OFF by the user, not ON.

can somebody explain why somebody would not want them enabled? i don't understand.... i mean, the worst that can happen is you read a few and just ignore them....
