What are the pros and cons of each, and which one do you recommend? Also, where's a good place to get skins, images, etc.? Thanks!

also I'm a big newbie at this. Stuck on the page where it asks for your mySQL database name, etc. How do I go about doing this?
 
RossMan here has a very nice Invision board setup. I've seen both in action (not in detail), and i can say i like the features out-of-the-box with Invision.
 
phpBB has worked well for me. If you go to the official website, there are constant hacks and themes being developed.
