When im at home (comcast cable in central cambridge), the forum pages load tend to stall. I usually see "waiting for ads.xxx.com to reply..." Where xxx is often googlesyndication, or cdn. The thing is that i work at MIT and i have no problems there. I guess it must be a problem with my ISP, but i dont have problems with any other sites loading ads.xxx.com. Does anyone have any suggestions how to fix this?

No. Why would that matter? My home machine bigger, better, faster, more than my work machine. Plus, this is a fairly new problem for me (and obviously i have been around here for a little while) during the last couple months. Im wondering if running that software to monitor ISP throttling would find something.

I was thinking that you might have some kind of ad filtering software on your home computer.

Ah, sure. The only ad filtering i have is adblock (i use the same thing at work too, probably different things blocked though). I had it set to "hide ads" not "remove ads." I guess i need to spend more time with this, eh? Why would "hiding" an ad prevent a page from loading?

I have found a solution, by adding pagead2.googlesyndication.com to my hosts file. It loads fine now, but i need to find something more sophisticated perhaps.

Everything is loading horribly slow for me. Has been for the past two days. It's the same in IE7 and Firefox (well, a little faster in FF.)

I've just migrated to Vista 64-bit from XP Pro but I can't imagine there's a connection because other web sites load just plain zippy like normal.

It's incredibly slow and very frustrating.

I should mention the AnandTech site itself is just as slow. I usually come here from there.

Edit: I fixed the problem by disabling autotuning.
