forum searching and sorting?

It use to seem that when you searched a area using the search box that it would put the threads in order by date. Now when i search the threads are all out of order with some new threads and old threads intermixed. Is there something that has changed? Its really much easier to look at the threads when you do a search when they are sorted by date.

There's a checkbox below that says "Order search results by date"

In Advanced Search, if you check the box mentioned by sm8000, it will remain checked and all your searches will be ordered by date until you turn it off.
