Most of the time (unfortunately it doesn't always happen) when I visit these forums, all the categories I collapsed are expanded again. It's a bit annoying and I have no idea what could be the cause.
I am using Opera 12.15.
Any ideas?

edit: looks like it happens if I close the browser before going here again.

Yes those are COOKIE BASED settings and not DATABASE SETTINGS..... I agree,it would be better if you CLOSED THEM they would stay closed per your account!! (But they would have to be DATABASE controlled (Like 'DATABASE THREAD TRACKING' keeps track of what threads you have and havent read (On sites that dont use COOKIE BASED TRACKING)))

Any staff member can comment on this problem please? It's extremely annoying.

I'll comment - I'm sorry this annoys you so much. As far as I know it's not anything that any of us moderators would have any control over.

Not saying moderators, I assume admins visit the forum too :) I mean, someone who can actually check whether there isn't a bug of some sort or something...

I'm not an admin but I do frequently visit and post here using a variety of devices including:

Windows 7 desktop with Ethernet connection
Windows 7 laptop with WiFi
iPad with WiFi

Using both FireFox and Chrome browsers with "remember me" checked, the categories always remained expanded for me. I can see where this would drive someone insane always having to expand them.

Perhaps you have a rogue script or extension which is causing this? Have you tried using another computer or temporarily switching browsers?

What happens if you login using IE, FireFox or Chrome?

I don't believe it's on this end, otherwise you would hear an uproar. Trust me, AT'ers love to complain and complain they would, in droves!

It could very well be Opera bug, I don't know!
I use Adblock Plus but that shouldn't matter, imo.

Will try with IE9.

Ha! Same thing with IE (absolutely default state with no extensions - if anything like that even exists :p). Really weird.
