Forte Agent taking up too much drive space.. why?

Im using forte agent ver 1.93 (i think) for news group reading. After a week or so of using it, it showed the drive where it was installed to, as empty -out of drive space. I found a file in the Agent directory called 0003ft.DAT which was a staggering 2gb in size! Why does agent do this and how can i stop this ?

You downloaded a bunch of binaries and didn't purge/compact the databases ?

Yes, they keep the databases of everything downloaded, and unless you delete or compact them, they will get so large that you won't be able to download anything else from that newsgroup once it reaches a certain size.

Yea. 2gb is nothing. Agent starts screaming around 4 I think. I use Grabbit for the binary stuff.

I like Grab-it too, but I just had to download a MIME decoder. That's one of Grab-it's weaknesses - it handles UUencoding and Yenc but doesn't decode MIME on its own.
