What, he's asking you to edit a thread here on Anandtech? Why doesn't he register and post his opinion here, then?

What a laugh. I get up this morning and out of curiosity I check the FB page to see if there is a sprint....

World Community Grid is the sprint, I guess we are in and there will be stats.:laughing::laughing::laughing::laughing:

It's almost like they did that just to mess with us. I can appreciate the humor better now that I have stopped caring.

Well, is @Fardringle still on the steering committee? It would make sense for him to vote for the project he already picked here.

Shh! You'll reveal the secret!

Actually, since the FB site has been broken for a while, I didn't even know which project had been chosen until very recently. And the way the selection is being done now, the committee won't know the final choice before anyone else (except Sebastien) does.

We chose WCG for the team event while FB was offline so it couldn't have been intentional anyway...

Yeah, the new selection system still isn't 100% perfect, but at least nobody can know what the project is ahead of time any more, and there shouldn't be any problems with projects being selected that cannot handle a sprint...

Anyway, I won't be running this sprint. I'm not opposed to PrimeGrid, but I just got a large batch of tasks from the "ghost" project NanoHUB so I'm going to be working on those instead.

Just run as usual, Mark. I don't know how much interest there will be after the pentathlon.

A nice thing about Rosetta is if you don't want to be bothered with managing it, just set it for 1-day WUs, and most of the results should come in on time.

The sprint will run from 05/21/2021 02:00 (UTC) to 05/24/2021 01:59 (UTC).

While I'm still sort of actively paying attention to the Formula BOINC stuff since I'm on the committee, we as a team aren't really focusing on it like we did last year. So I agree with Orange Kid and Ken g6. If you want to run it, that's fine, and just run it like you normally would if there wasn't a sprint.

I will be preparing for PrimeGrid's 16th Birthday Challenge (llrESP) this weekend instead of participating in the Sprint.

And out of 10 places that get points, we got 11th place. :(

I'll be participating in the PG challenge in a couple days. Sorry, but FB just doesn't interest me anymore.

When it became clear that Sebastien was more upset about people pointing out the cheating than the actual cheating itself, I was done with FB.

This still makes me very sad because the annual Folding race and FB were what got me into DC. Up until this year I was very invested in our TeAm doing well. Now I consider it an honor to do as poorly at FB as possible. TBST's podium finish will be a hollow victory, knowing as they must that we had the ability to give them a very hard fight should we have chosen to continue.

Don't worry @crashtech a new challenge site is being created as I type this so we will soon have something to look forward to other than just the Folding Race each year. Though you can't forget the WCG Birthday Race in November or the Pentathlon in May.

I expect the new site to be operational by 2022. With a few trial/test runs sometime in the next few months.
