Didn't see this thread, but I'll paste what I wrote in the one I made.
I was at the game, as I am a huge AFL fan, and a huge Los Angeles Avengers fan. I even run a website dedicated to the Avengers, BlackAdam.com. I was at STAPLES Center today and I saw the play, but didn't see the hit. When all the players got up, Al Lucas didn't. He was laid out on the ground on his back... I remember yelling "Ahh sh*t, he's not moving". His body was surrounded by coaches and refs and team doctors until he was carted off on a stretcher after around ten minutes. At the end of the game, they announced that the autograph session would be cancelled, something which they have never done before. A friend who I was with thought it was weird and said he thought something was wrong. I got home to find the article on MSNBC, finding out that Al Lucas didn't make it. It hit me like a bullet, I was shocked and pale as hell. A man who I've met before, and watch every week... gone, just like that. Al Lucas was only 26 years old, and leaves a wife and a daughter, just so damn sad. I just hope, he was conscious enough that when he was carted off on the stretcher, he could hear the roar and applaud of STAPLES Center... REST IN PEACE AL LUCAS!
