Good interview with Jon Stewart with former National Security Advisor to Jimmy Carter Zbigniew Brezezinski, talking about his new book Second Chance. Read most of it in Barnes and Noble the other day, and it gives a very good overall outline of the clear unimportance of Iraq and of the dire importance of withdrawing, re-committing troops to more threatening terrorist elements in Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia, and overall report cards to Bush Sr. (B), Clinton (C), and Bush Jr (F).

Well its not like we can do much about Saudi Arabia, as for Afghanistan, keeping troops there might be the safest bet. I would rather be there than Iraq any day. The nice thing is that it gives us a open door to Iran, the bad thing is that it has no sea access so our getting there is totally dependant on others

Are you kidding . . . or intoxicated? No seriously . . . the US has failed miserably in Iraq. The region is really ripe for a conflagration. Why on Earth would we put our military personnel in the MIDDLE?
