While tragic it greatly concerns me when the fate of 0.0000001% of the population is used to change\massage the rights of the remainder. By itself this is not so 'bad' and one would hope that the justice system will work as desired. Unfortunately there seems to be a growing trend of squeezing the rights and freedoms with the expectation that people can be protected from any harm no matter how statistically insignificant

I guess 9/11 destroyed more than just a few buildings, but also took out our Bill of Rights, too.

Dead wrong. The Bill of Rights is one of the most insightful and meaningful pieces of philisophical political literature ever written. It and the Constitution should be the guidelines for everything we do as a nation, always. I'm not even a soldier, or a gun owner, and I would fight to preserve the leadership introduced by those documents because I believe in America and the freedoms those documents assure.

Change the name to the "Amendments of American Rights", disreguard the fact of the so "special first 10 amendments" as all 27 are important. (Aka BoR only speaks of the first 10)

Also, some laws are too, general or grey area'ed. 2nd Amendment should state what "arms" are and what does it mean to be allowed to bare them. Sure courts and other laws have defined this, but its sad to see people drivel out amendment's in a debate without realizing it goes much deeper via added on/newer laws.

Basically, they need an update. No changes to the freedoms they give. But a 21st century update.

Dead wrong. The Bill of Rights is one of the most insightful and meaningful pieces of philisophical political literature ever written. It and the Constitution should be the guidelines for everything we do as a nation, always. Not saying the content needs changed. That the wording and newer laws that affect each amendment actually gets added onto the rights page.

There is approx. 10+ laws that define or add on to the grey area of most of the amendments. Which in law, and debate can cause quite a controversy as it then must be deciphered what is in each amendment. Instead of having a clear meaning of what each says.

Right. Because you clearly didn't understand what I said by update. I didn't ask for changes to the Amendments. I asked that it gets cleared up as 200+ years of additional laws have been added on in the "book of law" but has not been formally understood with each amendment unless you either are a lawyer or fully understand law.

There has been courts, debates and laws to define what "arms" are in the 2nd amendment. And everything in between. So it shouldnt be too much to ask for an update to the law that includesall of that so people don't learn just the very base of law. Otherwise that is like learning Addition and subtraction and thinking that is all there is when it comes to math.

We all did, at the time. The nation was pretty unified by patriotism at that moment in time. We were all wrong, of course, and it appears in hindsight that 9/11 was used against Americans for a number of reasons by our politicians.
