It's a repost, but I can't recall the original title (others will likely find it.)

The part I love about the story is how fast the NAACP backpeddled once they found out the girl was white. The sad part of course is how so many of the people involved just couldn't take a joke, which to everyone present the statement obviousily was. It sucks that we have to be so uptight nowadays for fear that someone will freak out :disgust:

Agreed; funny how much crap some people in P&N were flinging at Bush because he declined to speak in front of them... and yet nobody calls them out for this pretty pathetic action.

The double standard sucks.

Clearly inappropriate, but watching the video, it didnt' appear to be as bad as the story made it out to be.

He made a harmless comment (even the little girl saw it as such). Secondly the NAACP is the most retarded mob on the planet. ACLU runs a close second.

Right, because we would all be so much better off without the ACLU right? Everyone loves to hate them because they often represent not so favorable people/groups, but they do serve a valuable purpose.

What if your civil rights were treaded upon, and you didn't have the resources to do anything about it? Would you decline the help of the ACLU?

Does anyone see the big picture anymore?

The ACLU is a good organization in theory, but they go way overboard.

Please show me ther "valuable purpose" in the last ten years. They have brainwashed the people you refer to as the people you have labeled as "not so favorable" into believing whatever they say hence my use of the word mob. They prey on the on the "not so favorable people" and uneducated and are nothing more than lobbyist. To me they are on the same level as ambulance chasing lawyers. "oh no. You've been hurt. Let's milk the system".

Speaking more of the NAACP

All the time? They never do any good? If say 50% of their cases "go overboard", do you really think we would be better off without them?

Personally, I'm not a fan of a lot of the cases the ACLU takes, but it's by design. The cases they take are often the ones no one else will touch. However, I believe they do a valuable service at least some of the time, and I think we are all better off with them.

agreed, it gets to a point where no longer are they helping certain oppressed groups defend their civil rights but imposing their own political agendas to change the moral structure of this country to what they deem as fit. IMO i'll believe what i want to, pray or won't pray when/where i want to, and say the pledge of alliegience in it's entierity since i love my country.

The comment seems harmless, and the little girl seemed amused. Oh no she enjoyed it.. ruhroh, now she's going to have self esteem issues for life.. the clear answer here is to call for riordan's resignation.. cause that'll.. fix.. everything.

Example of them going "overboard"?

I have a huge problem with the NAACP, but I can live with the ACLU no problem. The ACLU might go overboard at times, but God knows they do a WHOLE lot of good for this country.

I was not speaking of the NAACP, I was referring to the ACLU. If you want specific examples, feel free to do some research.
