Is anything happening to the people giving the money?

I haven't really looked into the story, but is the person who did the bribing also being charged with bribing public officials?

It seems that our country would be in slightly better shape if the people who are buying influence had to be very careful that they weren't buying jail time for themselves.

I don't know but these are very good questions. I would like to see the person offering these bribes also put in jail.

Let us remember just exactly who this guy is.
Often a guest on the Pat Robertson 700 club.
Loved to tell people his marriage was special and blessed, above yours.
Fought endlessly to overturn any and all gay rights in the state including protections for gays in the work place.
Insisted women have ultrasound procedures as requirement for seeking abortion.
Proclaimed himself a man of family values, religion, and high morals.

Yes... this is the face of true hypocrisy in politics and what it looks like.
Seldom are we allowed to see the demon and the evil itself so fully exposed.
And in the end was he any of what he claimed to be?
Did he appear on religious TV shows as a true godly person?
Did he do everything in his power to harm Gay people for his moral beliefs?
Or, was he indeed the very definition of hypocrisy, evil, worldly gain, and materialistic greed?
The harm and damage he has done to good people, sitting on his high horse of morality, gives new meaning to the term the devils reject.
Yes, even the devil itself would not wish this guy handing around.

Prison is exactly where this devils reject belongs. As well his wife, Pandora.
And for an eternity, as it were.
As God himself might say, Look. And behold. For this is the face of the demon.

The best part of this is that in a plea bargain he was offered his wife would have been free and clear if he plead guilty to one felony. Nope, he gambled and opted for the 'throw the wife under the bus' defense.

Governor to felon in nothing flat. Now if we could only do this to the rest of the corrupt bastards.

Obviously the guy isn't very bright and has quite the ego. In this political climate the people have no patience for a corrupt politician and I'm surprised he took the gamble.

Or he suffered from very, very bad advice from counsel as they churned fees in his "defense".

I'm not surprised. Not in the least. Not considering the egos of todays republicans.

Since Obama was elected, and especially since 2010, the republicans have felt so infallible that they brought their bigotry and their nefarious style of morality right out in the open for everybody to see. They have felt that they were too powerful to have to suffer any repercussions, and no longer had to keep themselves closeted.

At least we now know what "family values" means. I used to think that it meant leaving the country to have an affair while your wife and constituents are searching for you, but now it looks more like real family values is throwing your wife under the bus.
