i know alot of you probably havent used this board in a while, not that its a bad board, its just not as up to date as some people like to keep their systems, being a kt333 based motherboard. I, however, am rather fond of it, have found it quite stable when over clocking and wont be getting rid of it anytime soon.

As for overclocking, Ive been able to run stable at 190mhz fsb, load windows, play some games, run without a problem. I reboot, and have corrupted files; initially i thought it to be caused by the pc2100 i was running so far out of spec :)

But, ive gotten some Geil pc3200 in hopes of edging up a bit for the hell of it and i still get an error at that speed ( i have since backed it down to 180fsb and am having no problems)

I was just curious as to how fast others got their 8k5a2+ stable. Im not thinking of upgrading, its plenty fast for me but was just curious. Is this typical? Could the cpu be causing the files to get corrupted somewhere alone the way(11x180@1.6Vcore) with a 1700+ tbred a)? I figure its probably the motherboards limitations causing it, but was curious.I dont have it overvolted any, not sure that i want to; like i said, im happy with the speed, just wanted to know how others got on with it and what their experiences were.

w00t to overclocking, double-w00t to xp 1700's :D

I'm still using mine too (non + version). However, with my so-so pc2700 and my dislike of corruption, I keep mine at 166.

You said you had a Tbred A?? I'm using a 1700+ B in mine. I did the wire-in-the-socket mod to set it to 13.5 x 166 because this board won't letcha set it to anything higher than 12.5 without a mod.

You can search some posts for this guy at amdforums who has his 8k5a2+ at 215fsb with pc3700. Pretty damn impressive.

I keep mine at 166 too with a 2000+ and 2700 memory. It's fast enough for me so haven't tried to max it out.

With my xp1700 tbred B, I was running at 192 x 12.5 =2400 @ 1.775v. Then I bought an Upgradeware mulitiplier card and changed to 182 x 14 = 2548 @ 1.825v.
