The best analogy I can come up with is what if we lived in a world where no one speeds because the penality is death and you're one of the law abidiing citizens trudging along on the freeway at 45mph limit. Then one day some douche replaced the sign with a 70mph one and you get caught speeding. Should you be sent to death?
