Formatting XP

Senior member
For reasons i do not wish to mention =) I wish to reformat my hardrive, on which I am running windows XP pro. Now i am quite a newbie, but i tried a few different things, including of course the usual format c: at the Dos prompt. but when i do this i recieve an error stating: not able to run this program in DOS....Does anyone have any suggestions for me?
thanks

If you're re-installing XP, just boot off the XP cd-rom, and during install you can choose to format right there

Too many porn pics huh... 😉

I believe in the setup on XP(like W2K) you can select to delete the partition and format, you should be able to do this in XP w/o going to a DOS prompt. HTH
