formatting software

Does anyone know of any free formatting software I can download. Looking to completely format my laptop hard drive then will be installing linux.

You could use the partition manager on any W2K or XP to repartition the drive. You'd still need to use the Linux installer to format to ext2 or ext3 format, though.

Most Linux LiveCD or installers should have a partition program that would allow you to do this easily.
