I just upgraded my system to Windows 2000 Professional and I don't like it. I can boot up with ms-dos but it won't let me format. i can't format from my computer either.

if anyone could help it would be appreciated.

You don't like Windows 2000???

Use a disk utility and their format and partitioning to clear the drive.

Edit. If you want to format a drive with NTFS, I think you can go to your manager by right clicking the "my computer" icon and go into manage then disk management.

hmm.. That's tricky.. =) Try fdisk. Go to a Win98 and create a bootup disk with fdisk on it. I think fdisk should allow you to delete the Win2k partition. I haven't used fdisk for a while, so I could be wrong. I just use pqmagic :)

edit: Since you're using NTFS, when you boot from the Win98 disk, don't try formating C: I accidentally did that once.. :p

You're trying to go from NTFS to FAT32?

The easiest way is probably to run WIN2K install again and reformat it to FAT32 during the process, then abort the install once it's done.
