Formatting HD message: Format not supported on C:

Im trying to do a clean install of WinXP. Before, I installed it over Win2k, and now I want to do a clean install to see if there is any performance differences (its running fine now). I have a win98 boot disk I use to get to command prompt, but I am getting a weird message when I try to format, "Format not supported on C:". Anyone know why I am getting this message, and any other method I can use to format my HD? Thanks

Oh, and does WinXP have formatting and partition options like an install of Win2k?

WinXP is a bootable CD that offers you the option of partitioning and formatting the drive.

And by the way, the most likely reason why you're having the problem is that your Win98 bootdisk is unable to recognize the NTFS partition of your Win2K partition.

Yes WinXP does have formatting and partition options like Win2K.. just use it to do what you need.
