OK, call this a brain fart on my part but i was wondering. I partitioned my hard drive into my windows partition(C🙂 and a partition for just anything and everything(f🙂. I want to reformat but don't want to lose all my "stuff" on my big partition. Here is what I am asking you, if i format c: /s will i lose my partion f: or not. Like i said its a brain fart on my part, but just want to make sure i don't lose everything.

you will only lose info on c:
type this-format c: /s

you must put the /s to copy system files, otherwise it will not boot.

Zip

You might be thinking of FDisk which could wipe out everything (if you deleted the partitions).

Format is fine. Use Format c: /q if you just want to do a quick erase (although it would be more desirable to run the full format).
